Quotes from sister Hinckley

I was able to talk with our friend who lost her husband recently and she told me a quote by sister Hinckley that has helped her it said "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." I really liked that quote and it make sense.

I was able to read more of he quotes and I loved everyone. Some times we all need to step back and see the big picture in life.

Sad news

A couple of weeks ago I got a call from my mother inlaw about an email she received. She asked if our friend Todd's last name was Houser, I told her yes and with that she had bad news. Our friend Todd had past away. At first I was like WHAT, and then the tears came. He was Jake's bestman in our wedding and Jake met him on his mission. He was 32 years old , he had been married for 3 years to a really sweet woman and has twin boys , Sam and Seth.

So many thoughts went thru my mind like, what his wife must be feeling and how his boys will not know how great Todd was. I just cried and put myself in that situation and I knew I would be a mess. At the wake Todd's wife got up and I have to say she was very calm and kept saying how she will see him again one day, she was so strong. I told Jake that I probally would be a mess and you would have to highly medicate me.

Todd always had a smile on his face, he told the best stories that would either make you go "really Todd" or you would have tears streaming down your face from how funny it was. I always tease Jake because before Jake and I were dating Todd set Jake up on a blind date and I guess the girl was underage, Todd thought it was funny but Jake didn't hahaha (Todd didn't know her age), At the wake many got up to share their stories and it always ended up with Todd playing with electricity or him setting people up on blind dates. When I was investigating the church Todd came to FHE at the bishops house and he knew I was uncomfortable and out of my element so his way of making me feel comfortable was to make himself look like a fool. I have to say it worked! :) Jake and I wished that we would have seen him more but life gets busy and years go by so fast.
He had a great heart and cared about others very much and I know he loved his family very much. I will cherish my memories of him and know that he is with Heavenly Father making him laugh as he did with so many of us.

A visit from family

Jakes cousin Raeann came by tonight to visit and of course we had a blast. It is always fun seeing them and just hanging out. The kids use to see eachother often but alot has changed and we all see eachother when we can. We were all able to exchange Christmas gifts and they were able to meet baby Jake. I wish we lived closer because the kids get along so well and they have a blast playing. Alyssa was like a little mommy and was the best at taking care of baby Jake, she even asked if she could take him home with her.

It really means alot to me when people go out of their way to see my family and love my kids.

Snow in the SCV

The girls with their daddy. It was a quick picture because it was getting soooo cold outside.
Last time it snowed in the SCV was when I was in 5th grade. It was so cool and it was coming down pretty hard. Jake and I needed to get our picture taken to remember this event. The girls came out and were having snow ball wars with Jake and I even got belted a couple of times thanks to Jake egging the girls on. It was a fun day and I wish it would of lasted longer.

I think he is sick of me taking his picture

Okay so hopefully no one gets upset with my picture but I had to put this in my blog for my book. A couple of days ago I gave baby Jake his bottle and put him in his seat and I looked down and this what I saw. I figured if by the time I get my camera and he moves than it was not ment for me to capture this moment. And well as you can see he kept this position for a while and yes his crazy mom took the picture.

I'm convinced that he is sick of me taking his picture all the time. He will need to learn that this is the start to many years of his mama taking his picture. I love this little guy and he puts smiles on our faces daily.

Crazy hormones

After having baby Jake I was expecting to go thru some crazy depression like I did with my girls but this time I'm not. Today a friend of mine posted a song on her facebook that really made my heart full. I started to cry. I know that my kids will grow up fast and I need to cherish the memories. Sometimes I have to take a step back and look at that because I am guilty of being so busy and not realizing laundry can wait Fran ..haha Maybe the postpardum that I have this time is just being sensitive to things..great!

I loved her firs by Heartland......

Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and eachothers face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like their's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she stills means the world to me
Just so you know
So becareful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not going to stand in your way

But I loved her first I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all the fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in her heart will always be hers
From the first breathe she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breathe she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved you first

I want Jake to dance with my girls at their wedding to this song.....:)

Christmas Day 2010

So Santa stopped at the Milhoans and brought some pretty sweet presents for the girls. This year they all got bikes! In the morning all I heard is tiny feet running down the hallway to get to the tree. There were giggles and laughter from all three girls and even daddy. Jake got a great picture of Kaeln's face when she saw the presents. The girls really were happy and that made my day.

Santa stop here

The girls covered the lawn with reindeer food for santa's reindeer. They had so much fun doing it. Talia dumped hers all in one spot.
Three little stooges!
We need to teach her to sprinkle the food.

First Christmas

I decided baby Jake needed Christmas pictures, so I got creative and did

it myself. He is in a stocking with his first Christmas hat.....Isn't he adorable!

Christmas party

Every year I look forward to going to my friend Patty's Christmas party. My friend Melissa jokes with me and says that I probally would be there in my hospital dress if I was in labor. I love going and seeing my friends and having an evening away for a bit. I love how her house is decorated with so many nativity's and they are so beauiful. Every year my friend Melissa and Jodie take a picture infront of the same tree, it has become our tradition.
