The Big 33!

My friends defiantly know how to make me feel loved today. I was overwhelmed with phone calls, text and facebook messages, it was so sweet that people took time to wish me a Happy Birthday.I was not expecting much today but for a normal day of running around taking the kids from place to place, dinner, laundry etc. I was running late taking the kids to school and as I was rushing the kids out the door I found to my surprise that I got tee-peed. I was cracking up, they got me good and I didn't expect it. At first I thought Jake did it but then I thought to myself "he knows I would get him back 10 fold if he did it." Then I saw the writing on the back of my car and knew who did it. I got the story later of how my friend Becky was peaking through my window as I was watching tv and how it was a good time for them. I swear I probably would of been cracking up the whole time if I was doing this. Later that day Becky brought me a bouquet of butter knives, something I will keep for years to come.

Later that night I was able to go to dinner with some great woman and just relax. I'm so blessed to have great friends and I hope they know I cherish their friendship so much.

Trust that it will be okay

This letter has been burning a hole in my desk for 2 weeks. I've been hesitating to send this in for a while and the due date to get it there is the 28th. You think I would be excited to send it in and be a step closer to be in the nursing program but it was not the case. I started to try to figure out who was going to help me with the kids, the question never crossed my mind if I could handle the school work but if I was going to get help with my kids. With a lot of thought I decided that if it's meant for me to go it will fall into place, I need to stop fighting it and stop assuming that family should help. Jake and I have done it on our own for 10 years together and just like he said we will continue to figure it out together.I've had so many discussions with good friends and their positive support and efforts to help have calmed me down. So hears to the future and the amazing journey if all goes as planned.

On my mind

We took it easy today after church today because we were all burnt out. They say Sunday should be a day of rest but with 4 kids I don't think that it's possible. I was able to attend Relief Society today and it was really nice to sit there and listen for a change and get something out of church. I teach in primary and my Sundays were always teaching and holding kids down. Now I switch off with my friend Lauren in teaching and I really like it. Baby Jake went to nursery and cried for a second and then got use to his surroundings. In Relief Society they talked about how a mother will be held accountable before God on how you raised your children, they are free to make their own choices but you need to be that positive influence and guide them and take care of them. It was a great topic to listen to and what made it more interesting was that Jakes cousin Rachel and I had that same conversation on this topic the day before.
After our dinner settled Jake and I took the kids for a walk and on our way back I got to had with Talia, I was able to  sing with her and talk with her for a bit. I asked her about school and what she liked about it, she told me she likes Mrs. Cindy and all the crafts she gets to do. As we kept walking she told me I needed another baby and it was suppose to be a girl, after I laughed that off and said N...O, I asked her how many kids she wanted when she got married and has a family. She proceeded to tell me 5 and said she wants 6 boys and 5 girls. One of the boys needs to be named Cory! I asked her how she was going to afford so many kids, she said that her husband would go to work with daddy. I asked if she was going to work and she said "No, I will stay home". I know Jake was listening to the whole conversation and was enjoying every minute. I believe that children do follow the examples of their parents, the kids do get to make their own decisions but they get a lot of their attitude from their parents. I pray that my kids follow in the footsteps that Jake and I lead, I want to be a good example for my children and I think I am hard on them but I will ALWAYS be fair to them. I have recently have had a great conversation with another ward member about what her mother did to raise all of her children and I was just to impressed to hear how she raised her 10 children and how well they are doing.  My friend went on to say that her mother is helping others to achieve their goals and how active she is in their lives. I love hearing from different mothers and getting advice on how to do my best in guiding my four kids.

Young Women

At church a few weeks ago I was approached by one of the YW leaders and asked to come to mutual because one of the YW voted that I was someone who inspired them. At first I was like is this a trick....I don't know anyone in YW who likes me or knows me that well.....Are they trying to surprise the September birthday woman. So much went through my head and I kinda let it go, then I got an email to remind me and I started to over think it again. I don't like center of attention and I was freaking out. They told me it was I was just going to have to answer questions about being a mother. I still didnt know who "this girl" who looked up to me was.
When I met with the YW leader she told me that Melanie Barron was the girl who was asked to find someone in the ward that she admired other than her mother. I got tears in my eyes and quickly had to shake it off because I didn't know I impressed her or others for that matter, I just act myself with no strings attached. Melanie stood up and told the class why she admired me and one of the things she said was that I'm easy to talk to and that I can make people laugh. During the class I answered questions that had to do with scenarios and what I would do in certain situations.
It was really a great night and I have to say Melanie is such a beautiful girl inside and out. I admire her mother and what an amazing job she does raising her daughter.

Disneyland with the cousins

I have not been to Disneyland in a while and it was a much needed trip. Jake's cousins came from out of town to hang out and we were able to join them on Friday for some Disney fun. My mother inlaw took baby Jake, which was very helpful and made my trip sort of fun. My three girls were AMAZING and I enjoyed their company. Talia and Brielle were joined to the hip and I loved watching them chit chat. Talia was a little freaked about going on the Pirates ride but she did it and Brielle held her hand on the ride. After the ride my little Talia wanted to go again, I'm not one to baby them and it paid off with my little push to go and Brielle's loving comfort. We lost Clayton for a few seconds because he ran off to follow Woody. We also got to go see Cruella and she defiantly played the part, she had Rachel and I cracking up. Jake was able to come and some of his friends joined us for a few rides, it's nice to put faces with Jakes work stories.  Jake had to buy clothes because he came straight from work and it happened that he matched me haha.
Earlier in the day we were able to see the space shuttle Endeavour on top of a craft carrier flying over us while we were in California Adventures. It was an amazing site to see, I over heard people saying how seeing that made them proud to be an American. Endeavour was headed for LA to be put on display at the California Science Center.

Busy weekend that ended in alone time

Today was the girls first game and it was hot outside. Unfortunatly the games were at the same time so Jake and I had to split up and go to different games. I took Talia and Jake took the baby, score, I got the easier kid! This year Jessica is playing with more rules and a goalie. The first half she was goalie and she got bored and was not watching the game and the other team scored on us twice, not her fault but she recognized her mistake. The coach put her in the game and she was doing awesome. We tied at that game. Now Kaelyn's team didn't do to well, Jake said that they were all over the place and there was not much guidance from the coach. After a day of heat and games, Cindy and Russ took the kids and Jake and I headed out for some couple time. We went to the new restaurant Lucile's for some food. The restaurant was really great and I loved the atmosphere. Afterward we had to run some shopping errands at Macy's then off to the shooting range. This was my first time shooting and since Grandpa Speed game me his gun I had to try it out. I was a little nervous there because of all the people with guns but I got comfortable after a bit. I just want to say how much of a much needed night out it was and that I have the best husband ever!

Love

Little Miss Fallyn was born wednesday August 29th at 6 lbs 11 oz. My girls have instantly fallen in love with this little cutie. First thing out of their mouths are "Can we hold the baby mom?" Baby Jake has taken a liking to her and demands to hold her and pushes my hands away when I try to do the mommy shield to make she he doesn't chuck her off the couch. We have requests to ask Aunt Jenni if we can take Fallyn home with us, haha. This little girl will defiantly have fun with her cousins as the years go by.

McDonalds night

With such a busy day still ahead of me we made time to support our school at McDonalds night. I could not avoid going because the school has signs all over the school and my kids demanded we go. It was nice getting there before it got crazy busy and our friends showed up at the same time too. The kids played in the germ playground, I think my son put his face on everything. It brought back memories of Goddess fitness! Anyways, good company and tons of play ended with our trip to soccer practice, it was nice to have our friend Miss Taylor join us for our outing.

Not fun

Not how I wanted to end my Sunday night but a trip to the ER was on our list today. Kaelyn was complaining about a small pimple on the back of her leg, I looked at it 3 days ago and it was really nothing. I cleaned it with alcohol and she went on her way, then today she said "mom can you look at it, it hurts a bit." Sure enough the area around it was hard and it was infected. Since Jake got MRSA earlier in the year I went into freak me out mode. So I called the doctors office and they advised me to go in. Thank goodness for my mother in-law, she came right over and I went to Panorama City ER, Kaelyn was the amazing patient, she had the biggest smile on her face and every RN, Pharmacist or doctor that talked to her was her new best friend. The doctor took a culture and sent us home with antibiotics, on our way home we "needed" a chocolate shake from In-n-Out because according to grandma, chocolate makes it better.
