Grandpa Craven

Grandpa Craven is a stud! I love this man, he is so fun to talk with and always has a story. He just recently had a stroke and is at Henry Mayo in ICU. I was really bothered by the news and have thought about his much more ever since. Jake went to the hospital the other day to visit him and Jake said that his grandfather kept asking for me. It pulled at my heart strings and I was going to visit regardless but I knew I needed to go that day. When I went to his room I was greeted with a big old smile. I told him that if he wanted me to visit he didn't have to come to the hospital I would of took him to lunch instead. Joe and his girlfriend were at the hospital visiting already so it was nice to see he was not alone. I feel that loved ones should not be alone when they are at a hospital! We talked for a while, I had him laughing so hard that he was coughing too hard to catch his breath so I backed up a bit haha.
He told me that he was at dinner when it happened and that he didn't remember the rest till he woke up at the hospital. I told him that he was partying WAY to much and it must of been a good party if he didn't remember it. I told him that I was going to get a pretty nurse to give him a sponge bath and he was lovin it! He kept telling me how he sneaks his dogs in the house and into his room (he's not allowed to have the dogs inside) and in the morning he opens the door and looks both ways to make sure he does not get caught. I told Joe he needed to go to the house and keep the tradition of the dogs sneaking in at night and grandpa loved the idea. Before I left I let him know I loved him and that I better not get a call from the nurses telling me he is running up and down the halls because the back of his gown is open for all to see. Anyways in all seriousness I pray he comes home, I'm very close to this man and love him so much!

She can ride her bike!

She is a riding pro! Jake and I took the kids to the park to play and get some energy out of them. Kaelyn kept telling Jake she wanted to ride the bike, she is our no fear child. Jake pushed her once and she was off. At the park by our house there are a lot of hills to Jake took her to the top and she bolted down giggling.

Everything will be A OKAY!

Everything is going to be okay right?! This last week has been a nightmare honestly. Jake is healing really well and we are all trying to get back to normal. I feel it's been hard for me to restrain from getting angry on all of this but it's NOT my husbands fault. After Jake came out of surgery he stopped breathing a few times and I think my heart did as well. I felt very helpless and scared. My kids and husband are my life and what I live for, anything happens to them I get defensive and protective. Jake had MRSA and if anyone knows about it they would know it is not a joke and can be deadly if not treated. I'm more and more grateful for the classes I have taken because it is something I studied, this is not a joke nor should it be overlooked. After surgery and Jake came to I went home and started the process of cleaning, I didn't get much done due to it being midnight and we had guests at our home. Yesterday was the big disinfect day. From 7am to 7:30m I was on my hands and knees bleaching the house and scrubbing, washing every sheet in the house. I'm still as we speak on load number 10 and have 3 more to go till all is done.
From all this happening I didn't get to go to my friends first time through the Temple and i have not met my friends new baby. I feel like a terrible friend, I haven't been able to talk on the phone when they call and I missed out on a lot. To top it off, seeing my husband in pain and depressed it upsetting. OUR lives have been interrupted and it makes me angry.
Of course I will write the bright side of things:
Jake got to go to Talia's tumbling class and watch her have fun
Jake was able to watch Jessica get an award in school.
My husband is safe and doing well.
I've had really great conversations with my husband and got to spend time with him
IT has made me more aware of how much more protective I will be of my family
Very Grateful for my awesome friends that went out of their way to help me.

Makes me think!

I really liked this one for so many reasons!

My poor husband! I swear he is such a great man and he didn't deserve to go through this. Jake got MRSA and had to have surgery last night. We went in the morning thinking that he would just get another antibiotic IV and then he would go home. The doctor said that he needed to see an orthopedic doctor and that they will need to do surgery. We went from 9am to 7pm of waiting for Jake to get in surgery. Then at 8 they took him in, most of the nurses were really nice and helpful and I met one of the nursing teachers at COC, she offered great advice for my future in the field.
When they took Jake to the operating room I felt my heart rip out of my chest. I didn't want to cry and worry him so I stayed pretty calm. This man is my life and I had to trust others to care for him, most know I just do things on my own and don't ask for the help so this was a hard one for me. I waited patiently in the waiting room and did some studying and talked to my friend Nicole as well as answering concerned texted from friends and family. The surgery went well and the doctor wants to keep him till wednesday which Jake is not happy with, he wanted to come home that night. When he was coming to I had to laugh because he opened his eyes and looked at his hand and said "What the hell, it was just my finger" then he would close his eyes and doze off and 2 mins later open his eyes look at his hand and say it again. My be some good drugs he got! I pray that he heals fast and is able to go back to his daily routine, Im grateful for the calls the help and the prayers everyone has given. oxox

Pre-Valentine's Day shoot

So this is what happens when mom is bored and Jake is not home to stop me....This is my little handsome Cupid and he is spreading love to all the ladies out there hahaha. He was not to happy with the wings so it took a Snickers bar and a lot of clapping. He is my little stud and it's fun to have this monkey in my house (even though he drives me crazy all day). Happy Valentines everyone!

The cool crowd

Talia and her pose went out to Bj's for her birthday and it was an all nighter. I had to call cabs, these kids can PARTAY! It was a fun night with the kiddos and Talia had a blast she gave me her list of invites and I made it happen. Jessica and Kaelyn all week were being nice to Talia so they would get invited to the party and it was cracking me up. I would hear Jessica in the other room saying " Talia, I'm invited right?" or "Talia don't forget to tell mom I can come okay." Talk about making sure they made it to the VIP list.
Anyways we had dinner and then dessert which was the famous cookie and ice-cream. Talk about a diet no no!

Very happy that our friends were able to come and have fun, we love you and are grateful for you all!

Talia's 4

Where has the time gone? Talia turned 4 on Sunday and we were determined to have a fun day for our sweet girl. In the morning the girls and I sang happy birthday to her and asked her what she wanted for her breakfast, we got the loud smiley response of DONUTS. So off to the donut store to get the birthday girl what she wanted. At church the primary sang to her, she seemed pretty shy but happy.

After church our family headed to my mom and dads for pizza and ice-cream. Talia's favorite! The night wasn't over, daddy needed to get his girl a gift and since Toys r us was closed Walmart was the second choice. The girls tried convincing Talia of the toy she wanted,,,nice try girls! Baby Jake was more interested in climbing the shelves and toy car isle. Talia made her choice of a Strawberry Shortcake house and we were on our way.

School

Today I felt sad and in a weird mood. I was dreading going to my chemistry class tonight and I didn't know why. Many know that going to school has been an obstacle and there are many frustrations to achieving my goal of being an RN. I don't expect people to understand why I'm doing it nor do I care if people understand. My family comes first in everything I do and my intentions are good. I have fought for every class and have had to jump through hoops to get into very hard classes but have managed to get in. My studying consists of flash cards in my purse, listening to lectures Ive taped in class and reading till my eyes can't stay open. Today was different, I felt my drive has diminished and its not like me. I was fighting the feeling that this class was wrong to be in but I went to the campus anyway. I called Jake right away and told him how I was feeling and he put out some ideas of why I was feeling this way. When I got off the phone I said a prayer and made my decision and it felt right. I dropped the class!

I'm taking another class online and I'm now 7 units from my degree. I've put my nursing papers in at COC and AVC. I have a couple other schools that I will have my papers in at but have to wait for the open date. I have some other ideas of what I will do during this semester and waiting for answers from the schools I've applied to. My dad made light of the subject and it was defiantly what I needed at the time, he said that his daycare company is going to go out of business if I don't go to school so I need to find something to do so the kids can be there with them. Thank heavens for my dad and the hard work he instilled in his kids...love him!

Supercross Anaheim

Yeah for night out with friends! Jake and I were able to get out and have some time together with a great bunch of people tonight. It was a much needed break from the kids and much needed time together. I think the last time Jake and I went out was for a wedding. Yikes! We dropped the kids off at my moms house and headed to Anaheim for some dinner at Joes crab shack. Love that place, I even got the shirt that says "GOT CRABS". This will be my workout shirt at the gym, I don't thinks guys will bother me anymore haha. Jake said he won't hang out with me if I wear it.

At the races we got to see some fun crashes and awesome wins. At one point our friend Ryan got into it with another person who was being rude to security. Of course all the guys in our group stood up and went on the defense and boy that kids face dropped. I love my big strong hubby! lol Anyways awesome night and I can't wait to do it again.

Talia's class

My girls have been able to try new little classes and have loved everyone I've put them in. Talia has not been able to do what the older girls have done so it was her turn to shine. A good friend of mine told me about this Gymnastics place near our home and I have to say that I'm glad I took her there. She loves going! She is all smiles and giggles and tries her best to do everything the teacher shows her. I love the teacher and that Talia is getting a little exercise. Jake and I both feel it's important to keep the kids active and not inside watching TV all the time. The only thing I sometimes don't like is keeping baby Jake still. This little monkey is in everything. This week he went flying into the window at the gymnastics front room and skinned his face. I'm not use to the active boy personality yet.

Play Doh

Today was my day to volunteer at Talia's school and while was standing at the sink in the classroom I saw a paper that had instructions on how to make play doh. So excited, I grabbed a copy and went to the store and bought one of the ingredients I was missing. The girls were very excited and they were able to choose their colors. I love the time I have to do these little projects with them and teach them new things.

Lately I've been going on this site Pinterest, they have some fun foods and ideas for kids that I'm planning on trying with the girls. Tonight is was the play doh and a recipe from pinterest that was banana bread (low fat). Jake said it was okay, when I told him it was low fat he said "banana bread needs the fatty stuff to be good". So scratch that recipe!
