Reading rewards

Jessica has been struggling in reading and it was brought to my attention by her teacher that we needed to do something. As a mom you don't want your kids to fall behind so I stepped in and decided to make it fun for her. I'm not an artist but I made a goal chart and every time she hits a certain number of books she gets a reward. This put a fire under her butt! She read 10 books in 2 days, her reward was an ice cream date with Jake. Jake had to deal with our truck so it was Jessica and I at Golden spoon (not complaining one bit, it was yummy). She has some fun things on her rewards list, lately she has been asking to have a night out with her Babcia and Papa so I'm going to have to alter it so she gets that reward.
I love this little girls motivation and hope she keeps that attitude as she gets older. Keep up the good work kiddo!

Shhhhh....

What do you do with 4 bored kids and a hubby that won't be home to relieve you of stress? You go to Target, buy a bunch of boxes of Ding Dongs and take your kids ding dong ditching...hahah I love the website pinterest!

I haven't laughed so hard in a while and tonight it was much needed. Kaelyn and Jessica were my runners and they did great. Before we went out on our crazy adventure we picked our victims (friends) and headed out. At the first house Kaelyn did the job. Before I let her out of the car I had to remind her that she can't wait till someone opens the door, she needed to leave the box, ring the bell and run like a bandit. Jessica gave me the play by play:

Jessica: Mom she is on the grass, oh she fell, okay she is back up. She put the box down, oh mom she's running!

Kaelyn was so out of breath and I was too from laughing so hard.

The next couple of houses we needed to do a run through to make sure they were not caught. We ran down hills, got through fences and we were successful.

Fun night with my kiddos, I have many more to get and can't wait to do it! muahahaha

The boys haircut

What a work out that was! Baby Jake is one active boy and does not stay still. He was looking a little shaggy and needed a hair cut. I love clean cut boys and that it what my son will have as long as I have say in it. Jake is the master haircutter for our son and does a great job. On Jakes mission he had to cut his own hair not that he is bald (hehe) he does our sons hair. We had him in the tub and that was interesting to keep him still, he hates the bath tub. We gave him a sucker that got hair all over it, yes that was pretty gross but it kept him still. It ended up in my hair but whatever he has a nice haircut. lol The joys of being a mom of a boy!

Quick break

What a busy week! I'm taking a 5 week Developmental psychology class and it has been a pain. I have been studying every chance I get and that is not much time with 4 little ones and a hubby that is working a lot. I've been doing school for 3 years and I have to say...THANKS GOODNESS FOR MY PARENTS! They have been so helpful with taking the kids so I can study, they know how much I want this degree. Most think I'm crazy for going to school but I think I'm smart for making this decision. I've opened my mind to so much and have learned so much. I think I'm a better person and mother because of it, my kids are learning by example.

With that said today the kids and I needed a break so after dinner the kids and I took a ride to Golden Spoon...It defiantly hit the spot and the kids enjoyed every bite of it. Still don't get why the kids like gummy bears in their ice-cream but what ever floats their boat. Jake isn't home yet but we will make a trip with him soon.

I'm grateful for my little family unit and the joys they bring to my life. I wouldn't trade this opportunity to raise these amazing children for anything.

Camp out

The girls have decided they don't line their beds and want to sleep in their tent. It cracks me up because I had no clue they got this out and went to bed. Sometimes nights get busy and after their teeth are brushed I start working on the baby's needs. They know the routine so when I walked into their room this is what I found. And I had to take a picture of the baby because he was so freaking cute in his crib.

Another one!

Another one! Geesh Kaelyn, the tooth fairy is going to be broke! Kaelyn has lost another tooth and the tooth fairy didn't come till 12noon...haha Kaelyn has no fear, she had been wiggling that tooth for days. I know they want the cash but pace yourself kiddos. She was so excited about her tooth being gone, she kept telling us how her friend Taylor has the same teeth missing. Oh the joys of being young!

2012

Another year has flown by! Jake had to work on New Years Eve so it was me and the kids. I had tons of friends inviting me out and I really wanted to go but between Jake not being home and then I started not feeling well I decided to ring in the new year with the kids and hang at home. I took the kids to pick out a movie and what they wanted to eat so we could get our party started. Our amazing dinner consisted of hotdogs, chips and oh yeah mint crunch ice-cream. I made a bet with the kids on who could make it till midnight and Kaelyn was the winner. Baby Jake crashed at 7:45...Talia was at 8:15 then Jessica made it till 11:10 and Kaelyn well I know it was well after midnight. I'm so grateful for the kids and husband that I was blessed with, we are not perfect but who is? So I pray that 2012 is good to my family and tons more memories are made with our new amazing new friendships we made.
