Saturday fun

What a busy day, can I just say that I am BURNT OUT. What happened to weekends being low key and restful? Today we took the two youngest girls to swim in the morning and I ran Jess to Central Park for the Easter Egg hunt because I didn't want to have her watch her sisters have fun swimming and not have her get some fun in. Jake got done with swim and raced over to where I was to have the other kids get eggs, he made it literally in just in time. Poor Talia was ambushed by crazy kids when her bucket fell on the floor and kids swarmed to snag her eggs (if I would of saw the parents I would of had words for them not rectifying that situation, seriously sad) she was so sad and it broke my heart. Her sisters came to the rescue and gave her some of theirs and all was good.

After the egg hunt we headed to Placerita canyon to meet up with the Snow family. We love them to death! They have always welcomed us and Jake grew up with them when he was younger. We took the kids on a hike and to the nature center, baby Jake made friends with all the boys and followed them around where ever they went.

We got home around 3:30 only to get ready for the ward baseball game. Jake seemed excited to go so we packed the kids up again and headed out. When Jake and I first got married we would go all the time, it was fun to talk with other wives and hang out. Today reminded me of those days and I loved it. The kids played with their friends and the women chatted, it was a good evening.

Now I'm ready for bed but have to play easter bunny! haha I need a shirt that says "GOT SLEEP."

Friends and egg hunt

Very grateful for the friends my family and I have made in our ward, it was rough a couple of years ago when I first joined Solemint but thank goodness for the Evans, Andersons, Ibarras, Pollard and Barron family. I've even met a new girl Michelle that is a sweetheart!

They have been wonderful to us as we hope we are to them. Our kids all get along and I love the memories they are creating together that I hope will continue in life long friendships.

I invited a few families over for food, laughs and easter egg hunt. Everyone brought something yummy and the kids ran and played. The dad's hid the eggs and the moms brought goodies and kids to the park when they finished. I think I got more tired then they did, this week is burning me out!

Underwood Farms

This place was really neat for the kids and it was a beautiful day to be outside. I've heard of so many people going here with their kids and loving it but never took the time to go. For spring break week I was determined to get the kids out of the house and keep them busy. This was one of our adventures! My mom came with us to help out with the kids and just enjoy the nice weather. The kids got to pick their own strawberries, onions and carrots for the easter bunny. The easter bunny was there and this time no one cried, yeah! The only thing I didn't like was every time I turned it was buy a ticket for this or for that. What happened to FREE!

Not always fair!

We encourage you to continue your studies while you wait to reapply. If you have no other courses to take in fall 2012, review your scores on the subject areas of the ATI TEAS and if you scored below the national mean in any area, we strongly encourage you to take additional coursework in that subject to strengthen your knowledge base. We also encourage you to complete any general education courses you may need for an Associate Degree and to see an academic counselor for advisement.

*What can I say to this! Every time I go to apply for a class or even better the nursing program I jump through hoops or have to be on a waiting list to just get in a class. I don't lie on my application, I answer honestly. I don't need aid in paying for school which limits my ability to be in any clubs. When I read this email I was at the gym and I felt like I got kicked in the stomach and the tears just fell. I couldn't talk or breath at the moment. All I could think was wow what do they want from me, why can't I even make the alternate list. I started to get angry at people who got in that DID NOT have my grades and got in on the first attempt. It is what it is and after calming down I realized that God will put me where I need to be and I will eventually get in. I'm inpatient and my sister inlaw Kellie is right, I expect too much out of people and I shouldn't do that. So hears to waiting to getting in the right program and to not expecting a lot of people! SALUTE

Best mom award

Yeah seeing the Easter Bunny today did not go well. First off I was by myself with four kids and second it was around baby Jakes nap time. Talia did not want to have anything to do with the Bunny and well baby Jake was having a heart attack and veins were popping out of his head from screaming. I still got the picture because yes they are memories that we can look back on. I think I freaked out the peoples kids in line with baby jakes screaming. Yeah for 2012 Easter pictures!

Humble Pie

Jake and I co teach at church and we have really great kids but they can get a bit crazy at times and it's hard to keep them still. Well we've had some rough weeks and it was brought to some of the children's parents attention. We love these kiddos and want to make it as fun as possible for them, we understand that sitting still is NOT fun. One of our kids parents stopped by with his son the other day with an apology and pie. It was adorable on the box it said "Humble Pie." Jake and I were cracking up! Jake and I both appreciated the gesture and we are grateful for this parent taking the time to recognize and guide his child to do better. I admire how they handled it and will use this if my child ever steps out of line. I'm grateful for these kids and hope that we can work together to have fun and learn about the gospel.

Swim lessons

This year Talia and Kaelyn are doing swim lessons at the local YMCA, no more floaties for these girls. In the morning I told the girls to get ready to go and first thing out of Talia's mouth was "Mom I need my floaties!" Oh great I thought, this was going to be an interesting class, she's going to cry the whole time. She even went to the closet and found her set to take with us, I conveniently forgot them. When we arrived at the YMCA we waited for our friends Corrine and Taylor to get there to get this party started. The girls did really well and yup no floaties were needed for Talia, she was all smiles when we were there. Hopefully they know how to swim at the end of this class to we can get our summer started.
