Busy as usual

I have been so behind on my blog due to life and all that comes with it. Mothers day was fun, we did the normal visits to the parents and just hung out and relaxed.
Kaelyn and Jessica had their band performances and Im so happy that I could go and see them. They did so good and I love that the grandparents were able to join us.

Palmdale Regional

I was sent an email about 2 weeks ago to be part of a wrap that goes on the elevators at the hospital I work at. I completely avoided it and actually thought it was a joke. Then while I was at work I got another email saying "see you at 2:30pm for pictures." I was confused! I had plans to go to the beach and have a life that day, not work! Thinking of how to bail on it and what I would say to not do this, I looked at the email again and noticed others bailing an my director on the email…CRAP! So I decided to go, bail on the beautiful beach, and bring 4 kids to my work.
When I got there a co worker of mine was there and another lady that worked for the hospital by the name of Anna were talking with me and the kids. Anna was very nice and took the time to talk to my kids and even brought them some cookies, grateful for nice people.
It was pretty neat doing the pictures and I'm kinda happy I did it. The pictures will go on the elevators at the hospital, Im probably going to end up with a mustache but I know that will crack me up!
After the pictures, I had to take Kaelyn to her reading class. Jake met me there and he took the other kids to church and I took K out to dinner and shopping. I think its important to spend time with my kids one on one and hear them out. All in all it was a great day!

I finally got the Blue Badge

I have been waiting to get this new badge for a while, it's like the final step that seals the deal. I'm an RN! Today the hospital had a brunch for us, our directors were able to say a few words for us and I tried to hold back the tears. People don't understand what it was like to become an RN for me. I did sleep much, I studied a lot, missed out on so many outings, lost friends and cried a lot. Was it worth it? YES, YES, YES. I'm learning so much, I'm teaching my kids that hard work pays off. I've been able to cry with families, laugh with them and and save lives.
My friend that I made on my unit, Kristian, taught me a lot. I was scared to talk to a MD by the name of Dr. Patel. He is a MD that knows his stuff and he expects you to know yours. So when I had to communicate with this MD I was nervous because he has made nurses cry. Kristian, John and Mark knew I was nervous and they told me, "Go get a diet coke from the fridge and give it to Patel and introduce yourself." I did what they told me, when I was doing that, the guys stood there like my bodyguards and watched to make sure I didn't fall on my rear. I will never forget that act of kindness and will pay that forward in life.

2016 Mudrun

2016 Mudrun! A while back a good friend of mine told me about this and the kids liked it so when I saw that they were doing it again I signed them up. We tye dyed shirts a couple of days ago to get ready for this and found our old sneakers and they tackled it head on. Since they were not timing it this year, I had the girls stick together. When the announcer blew the horn I saw the girls take off. Baby jake and waited at the finish line. Kaelyn was the first one to see and she was hauling it.
When the girls all finished I asked them to tell me about it. I would hear them say that is was fun but my favorite story was when I asked why Kaelyn was ahead of them all and didn't stick together. Jessica went on to tell me that when the announcer blew the horn Talia got to the post of the stand (maybe 20 feet) and said that she was tired and couldn't breathe so Jess told Kaelyn to go ahead of them. Then as Jess and Talia got to the obstacles Talia kept telling Jess "Lets go around it!" Until they got to an obstacle where "the police" where standing so Talia did it. Oh man, I love being a mom to these kids. P.S Baby Jake cried the whole time because he changed his mind and wanted to do the race. fun times!

Talia's request

So Talia has been wanting to go see Aunt Reanne and go skating ever since she over heard a conversation I had. With months and months of asking I finally got the time and made it happen. We me Reanne and the kids for dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory and got to hear about their vacation in Hawaii and of course had some good laughs. Then we headed to Chino and went roller skating. It was SO MUCH FUN! Talia did so great, baby jake had the old man walker but never left the rink and was skating like a pro. Jess and Kaelyn loved it too. Such a fun night. I always love seeing them.

Joes Bachelor party

So Joe is getting married in June and he asked Jake to be his best man! For Joe's bachelor party Jake planned a desert trip to California City. Boys will be boys and there was burgers, guns, riding and trailers. I had to work and the kids got to hang with grandparents for the weekend. Jake said that they had a great time. Joe apparently passed out in the truck and a blow horn couldn't wake him…lol It's like when you take your kids to Disneyland or the beach all day and they are exhausted…minus the BEER! hahaha

Junior High!!!!

I cannot believe that this young lady will be going to junior high this year. When people say that the years fly by and enjoy them while they are young, they right. I still remember her as a baby and when I found out I was pregnant. My dad would and still calls her #1 lol. I pray that she will do well in this next stage in her life and that the outside world doesn't hurt her. I pray she comes to me when she has questions or needs to just talk. I had thought so much about how junior high can be a time of trial for children.
Today she had her check up and round of shots for entry to junior high and she was really a trooper. I call Jess my worry child. She wants to know all the details right away to prepare herself. I look forward to being her mom and love her so much.
