Cousins in town

Every year I look forward to the cousins being in town to do stuff with. We were able to go to the Mormon Battlalion, I wish I could of heard more but is was a little loud, hopefully the kids got something out of it. We went from room to room and at the end they got to pan for gold. We headed to walk downtown San Diego and have some root beer floats. It's a cool little area, I wish Jake was with me. Sea World was on the list of to do's. The kids had a blast, they sat through the shows with no problem but my anxiety kicked in and I didn't like how I was easy to loose them. I swear, I'm not doing this again without Jake with me. Thanks to Eric and Adam, the girls were able to sit in the Soak Zone and they got soaked. Later the older guys took my three girls on the big kid rides while Jake and I did our own stuff. I love how my kids love the Vincent family and I appreciate their help that day.

We need a new couch

Busy Busy Busy, never a dull moment in our lives. I am trying to get my house in order before school starts and we need to have the rooms in the house organized so Laurel and I took a trip to IKEA for some stuff, with 8 kids in tow and 2 upset little boys we managed to get a few things. In fact it was not enough so Laurel, Rachel and I NEEDED to go back and get a dresser and stop at Nordstrum Rack haha. Jake put the dresser together for me which was the highlight of his night (not!). Kaelyn had tryouts for soccer so I left Jake with the others to have fun with putting the oh so fun dresser together.

Jake and I were couch shopping, after 7 years of tearing it up it was time to look for a new one. I got a text that my friend Nicole was in town visiting Eric, so we met them for a last minute dinnerThese kids were begging for quarters to get the weird mustache's, they hit up everyone I think like 10 times to get money haha.

Surprise, you're having a sleepover

With life being so busy I could not get a party for the girls together quickly. So with Jake in my ear saying "FRAN, you need to have a party with them!" I made it come true. One thing with me kids lately is the the "WHEN, WHERE, and WHEN" questions. Whenever I tell them we are going to do something I get slammed with so many questions that at times can be a bit frustrating so I don't tell them when we are going to do things much anymore to avoid the 50 million questions. I invited most of their friends for a sleepover and kept it on the down low. I told my girls 10 mins before everyone arrived.  We took pictures, went to the park, had pizza, watch a ton of movies, had cake and stayed up till 4AM. They were going strong, I kept saying are you guys ready to go to bed. NOPE, they were wide awake. I had to shut it down at 4 and within 5 mins, they were out. Glad I was able to do this for them!

Summer Preceptorship

I went into this preceptorship thinking that I would learn the basics in nursing and get a few more things out of it. HA, I got more than I expected! I did 60 hours with my OB teacher Casey and I have to say it was worth it. I was able to work in the ICU and one day in the ER. ER was very busy and you need to be on your feet, what I didn't like is not knowing what was coming in that door. What I mean is that you have people barfing or with infections that are from an unknown cause you I would get exposed to it. I worry for my family because I don't want to bring anything home to them. ICU was great and sad at the same time. I saw a lot of people that were intubated with the good chance they were not going to survive. My teacher was very patient with me and guided me with every step. I became more confident and encouraged. Nursing is not a joke and the amount of knowledge they have is amazing!

Baby Jake and the scripture

Baby Jake was asked to do the scripture for church, he was so shy but was so excited to get up there and do it. We need to do something about those high water pants he is wearing! It always brings a smile to my face when the kids feel all proud to do stuff like this.

Girls trip

This all started with my friend Jodie calling Jake saying "Your wife is going with us for a weekend!" And with the wonderful husband that I have he told them yes. Temecula is amazing and I don't think there was a moment that I didn't laugh, these girls are full of energy and happy. We went to an 80's biker bar where they had live music and it was perfect. I knew all the words to the song and the people were dancing around, so funny.
